Stop Manteca Gangs

New trends in gang action in San Joaquin County indicate membership and activities are growing quickly. The City of Manteca has in the past has looked at the gang issue as an issue for cities larger (ie. Modesto and Stockton), but the gang issue has become an issue here in Manteca.

We as a police department will address this issue with in the city and school district. We are taking a proactive to this issue. The police department has five full time officers assigned to the gang unit. We have three detectives addressing the enforcement side of the gangs. One officer has been placed to establish gang prevention programs and a full time sergeant is also active in suppression and prevention.

The MUSD is also being proactive. The district has recently received a grant to address the gang issues with in the schools.
